Our mission: To preserve, interpret, and share Overland Park’s story.
Founded in 1994, the Overland Park Historical Society is continuing the legacy of the Overland Park Heritage Foundation, which preserved the community’s history for many years. Today, that mission is expanding to include the operation of Discover O.P., the preservation and stewardship of an expanding collection, and educational programs that engage students, residents, and visitors of all ages. By connecting the community with its past, OPHS is helping ensure that Overland Park’s history remains a living resource—one that informs, inspires, and shapes the community’s future.
