Long hidden within the museum’s walls – and the founding of Overland Park

Discover O.P. is home to a collection of photographs, artifacts, documents, publications, and other materials that tell the story of Overland Park and the people who shaped our community.
Many of these resources are available to visitors in the Research Room during regular museum hours. Whether you are researching your family, your home, a local business or organization, or simply want to learn more about Overland Park’s past, our collections offer a wealth of information to explore.
If you have a specific research question or need individual assistance, we encourage you to make an appointment with a volunteer or member of our staff. We’ll be happy to help you make the most of the resources available at Discover O.P.
When you are looking for an informative presentation, an opportunity to explore Overland Park on foot, or a behind-the-scenes look at our local history, we can help create an experience that is both educational and memorable.
