Our Vision for 2024
HAPPY NEW YEAR FRIENDS OF OPHS!
As we turn the page on another year, the Overland Park Historical Society looks forward to 2024 with great excitement and renewed energy. Exterior work on the Strang Depot, now known as “Discover O.P.”, should begin in late January by installing new windows, awnings, coach lamp light fixtures, and signage. The existing asphalt shingle mansard roof will also receive an upgrade to standing seam metal. Interior renovations, including new restroom facilities, will continue throughout the year. The goal is for us to be ready to begin daily operations at Discover O.P. by September. We also look forward to hosting a series of open-house events designed to increase awareness of OPHS and Discover O.P., which will become a wonderful addition to the downtown area.

Become a Friend in 2024
There is no better time than the start of a new year to consider becoming a Friend of OPHS by providing support at one of the following levels:
Strang Level: $1,000
Gold Level: $500
Silver Level: $250
Bronze Level: $100
All supporting levels will receive recognition annually in the OPHS Newsletter, The Membership Directory, and on the OPHS website.
As a 501(c)(3) Charitable Organization, the Overland Park Historical Society relies on individual and corporate support to fund our mission of preserving, promoting, and bringing to life our living history. In 2024 and beyond, we will need increased levels of financial support as we become more and more active in fulfilling that mission. We appreciate your ongoing annual support at any level!
